2019 has been a hectic and exciting year! Rockport, Tx has made huge improvements from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. Most Hotels and Restaurants have rebuilt and re-opened for all the Visitors who enjoy Rockport's pristine beaches and fantastic seafood. The fishing has returned to its former glory with BIG fish such as Red Snapper, Spotted Trout, Red and Black Drum hitting hard on your line dropped into the water. Shrimp and oysters are coming back in abundance. The Hummingbirds and Whooping Cranes as well as White and Brown Pelicans, Blue Herons and White Egrets have returned to raise their families! It is such a joy to see everything beginning to flourish again!

With the improvements Rockport has experienced, The Retreat House has been making improvements as well! New landscaping around the outside of the house has opened up alot of the nearly five acres the Retreat sits on. Views from the large windows of the lake behind the house make for a peaceful morning sipping coffee out on the back screened in porch while deer and birds of all types stroll and play! We now have THREE Wifi Systems to improve your internet experience at the Retreat House. Two seperate systems in the Workroom for faster downloads and one system in the Bedroom Wing to stream books, movies or music!

It has been so much fun redecorating the bedroom wing. We have added new Themes to each room and decorated accordingly! Curtains, table toppers and hand made Quits have been added to each room. We have the Flamingo Room in soft and vibrant shades of pinks and whites! Then there is the Peacock Room in shades of lavenders and deep purples! The Blue Heron Room boasts pastel to rich blues. The Hummingbird Room soothes in shades of greens! We will continue to add little personal touches to each of our rooms to make your stay more enjoyable than ever!

The Rockport Retreat House is proud to introduce Chef Mary Helen and Masseuse Mimi Lange to your stay at the Retreat House! I have "sacrificed" and personally tried numerous dishes created by Chef Mary Helen and I must say...YUM!!!!! Your group can choose from a variety of selections from King Ranch Chicken, Brushetta Chicken Pasta Salad, Beef Marsala, Beef Enchiladas, Roasted Shrimp & Orzo Pasta, Smothered Pork Chops to name a few! Made fresh and delivered to the Retreat House hot and ready to eat! Mimi Lange comes highly recommended in giving thirty minute or hour long massages to take away stress and relax and refresh you during your stay at the Rockport Retreat House.

EQ8 classes with Reeze Hanson on Nov. 11, 12 & 13, 2019 still has a few openings! Class is $40 for this three day class. ROSEMARY SARTIN will be holding a two day Brother Scan N Cut class at the Retreat House on November 19th and 20th, 2019! Cost is $50 for the two day class from 9 am until 5 pm each day. If you would like to spend the night at the Retreat House, your one night stay is an additional $55. Sign up NOW as we hope this class fills up quickly!

My next project is to revise the Rockport Retreat House Website with all the new Improvements! As an added bonus, I am reducing all rates for Retreats booked and held in 2020 to $65.00 per night per person!! I want everyone to visit and stay with us at the Retreat House and hopefully find your new Home Away from Home to relax and enjoy your favorite Crafts and Hobbies! We have additional surprises and goodies in store for each group! AND, we will have an In-House Craft/Quilt Shop in place SOON for those little items you may have forgot to pack! Inventory is being purchased now as we prepare the room for the Shop at the Retreat House! (And NO, none of the work space you already enjoy will be taken away with the addition of the Shop)
